LVD was once a loser, ugly and barely wins a fight in his life. Akuma sent him to Mysterious Ninja's Dojo to train to become a better fighter. LVD greatly improved in his fighting style to a great extent, he changes species in a weird unexplained event. His fighting style was inspired by Sephiroth, to the point he even dresses as him. Or at least similar to him...
